Investment

We spend around £220 million a year in capital investment on our network.  Part of this is to replace worn out equipment, part to deal with increases in electriicity demand and part to help improve the quality of supply to our customers.

Across our region in 2008, we spent:

• £11 million to replace 320km of high voltage and low voltage overhead line
• £2.6 million to replace 41km of high voltage and low voltage underground line
• £11.3 million to replace 219 substations
• £8 million on vegetation management to prevent tree branches touching our lines
